Dear Valued Customer,

Essilor of America, in an effort to better serve our customers, has decided to discontinue some extremely low volume products as of April 7, 2022. Please note this is an update to the communication that was sent on February 8, 2022 This discontinuation letter includes:
● Products that are no longer being manufactured worldwide
● Legacy products from Essilor brands like X-cel, KBCo, and SLC
● Product from other lenscasters that are now no longer available from Essilor Distribution Centers

Please note there are 3 products from SLC previously communicated as “discontinued” that have been instead moved to Make-To-Order (MTO). Please refer to Exhibit B in the attached document for those products. For a full list of discontinued products please refer to Exhibit D in the attached document.

Global now has the Hoya LensChoice 2 photochromic lenses available to order. When you order with the old bar codes, Global will automatically send you the new, improved LC2 photochromic lens. Note: 1.50 material does not have the 5 base yet, but Hoya is working on getting these in. The new LC 2 product lines are:

SFSV 1.50 LC2 Gray and Brown HC 75mm
SFSV Poly LC2 Gray and Brown HC 75mm
SFSV 1.67 LC2 Gray and Brown HC 70/75mm
SFSV Trivex LC2 Gray and Brown HC 70/75mm

The new iD Lifestyle Sensity 2 product lines are:
iD Lifestyle 1.50 Sensity 2 Gray and Brown HC
iD Lifestyle Poly Sensity 2 Gray and Brown HC
iD Lifestyle 1.67 Sensity 2 Gray and Brown HC
iD Lifestyle Trivex Sensity 2 Gray and Brown HC

These new iD Lifestyle lenses had a few changes to the product line range being offered, so you will need to order these with the new bar code.

The price for these new LC2 and Sensity2 lenses is the same as the old ones. Please return old lenses to Global by March 20^th.

This and other initiatives will improve Essilor’s production capacity and service, aid in achieving maximum job-processing efficiency, and allow our customers to order from a newly streamlined product portfolio.

Please review the attached document for a list of affected products, and instructions on returns.

Shamir has come out with a new HC (Titan) for their SFSV Trivex Titan lenses. These new blanks are to be used for all non-Glacier AR jobs. Shamir has struggled with Trivex production levels, so they have added this line to keep up with demand. The price is the same as the old lenses (DLC coat).

The SFSV Trivex DLC HC blanks will still be available for a while to order from Global. These are to be used for Glacier AR jobs. When our inventory runs out, Glacier labs will need to buy these directly from Shamir. Shamir will send Global the DLC lenses we currently have on order, but Global will not be placing any future orders for these Trivex DLC blanks.
